Supervision -

Many professional bodies such as the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) require their members to have supervision and I personally see it as imperative whether in private practice or working for an organisation. I consider supervision to be a working alliance between us and that this should be  should be beneficial to both the patient/client and the practitioner (not forgetting the supervisor).

I hold a certificate in supervision from the BPF (British Psychotherapy Foundation) and have previously supervised groups at a local counselling centre. I also offer individual and group supervision to both Psychotherapists and Counsellors in my private practice.

Although I work analytically I do also provide supervision for practitioners from different theoretical orientations and this can be discussed at the initial session. In the same way as a psychotherapy or counselling session we can consider whether we would like to work together and coming to an initial session would not mean a firm commitment from you. We can both take some time to consider how to proceed.

My normal fee for individual supervision is £65 and the session length is 50 minutes (the same as a psychotherapy or counselling session). Group supervision may be longer and the cost may vary depending upon the group number and length of session. 

Occasionally I am able to offer concessionary fees to students and trainees and this can be discussed at the initial meeting. Please feel free to contact me for further details.
